Having the right amount of coverage for your home is one of the most important decisions you make when purchasing a homeowners insurance policy. When it comes to insurance, it’s not a one-size-fits-all. We offer many insurance options for your convenience.
There are several characteristics of your home to take into consideration to find the right coverage for your Florida home, such as the home’s location, square footage, age/material of the roof and plumbing as well as how the home will be occupied.
A home that was recently built can be hard to locate with an online quote. Call us for an estimate.
We have options to help you find insurance for an older home. Call us to discuss your choices.
Helpful information is included for each type of coverage to give you a better understanding of the flexible options we offer our customers.
Coverage A provides coverage for damage to the structure—your home—in the event of a covered loss. This coverage is provided at Replacement Cost. This means that the structure of your home is valued using today's construction costs to rebuild or repair your home.
Dwelling (Coverage A) Limit: $200,000 - $1,000,000
(higher minimums in certain counties)
Coverage B provides coverage for “other structures” located on the residence's premises. For example: an unattached garage, gazebo, or in-ground swimming pool may be considered unattached structures. Of course, additional coverage may be requested for pool enclosures.
Other Structures (Coverage B) Limit: 2% to 70% of Coverage A
If you have an inground pool with an attached aluminum screened enclosure you may also want to consider adding our optional Limited Screened Enclosure or Carport Coverage endorsement.
Coverage C is available to cover your personal property such as furniture, clothing, jewelry, electronics, and appliances. Our customers can choose a coverage limit between 25% and 75% of the Coverage A Dwelling limit or exclude this coverage.
Personal Property (Coverage C) Limit: 25% - 75% of Coverage A.
Tip: Security First Insurance offers replacement cost loss settlement coverage for your personal property. Without this valuable coverage, items are valued at their depreciated value, which is less than the amount you would expect to pay to replace them with brand new items.
Coverage D provides coverage for the additional living expenses you and your family incur while you are living away from your home which includes the cost of a place to stay, food, and clothing.
Loss of Use (Coverage D) Limit: 10% of Coverage A
We provide our customers with a pre-paid debit card that they can begin using right away (once activated), which eliminates the hassle of depositing a check and allows our customers to withdraw cash immediately. This is one of the many solutions we've put in place to improve the customer experience with Security First Insurance.
Tip: Make sure you keep all your receipts.
Coverage E provides coverage that can protect you in situations that may be unforeseen, such as a friend twisting their ankle on a loose step. Liability coverage also covers certain defense costs - even if the lawsuit filed against you is false, groundless, or fraudulent. However, it does not cover liability losses caused by any animals you own or keep.
An optional Dog Liability Coverage endorsement may be available to cover bodily injury and property damage caused by dogs you own or keep (certain restrictions apply).
Personal Liability Insurance (Coverage E) Limit: $100,000 - $500,000
Coverage F provides coverage for medical expenses incurred by someone who does not reside in your household who is injured on or by your property.
Medical Payments to Others (Coverage F) Limit: $1,000 - $5,000
